Increased Enforcement Signs Go Up Along 151
Nelson County, Virginia

Above, workers with VDOT install one of the many increased enforcement signs along Route 151. The signs have been added to existing speed limit signs.

Monday VDOT began installing bright yellow signs to the top of speed limit signs along Route 151 from Route 664 (the highway to Wintergreen Resort) all the way north to Route 250 through the Rockfish Valley. The signs read Increased Traffic Enforcement Next XX Miles. Currently the speed limit remains 55 MPH along much of 151. Later this week, after underground utilities have been marked, the speed will be reduced from 55 MPH to 45 MPH on Route 151 from just south of Martin’s Store Substation north to the vicinity of Bland Wade Road. The existing 55 MPH signs will be changed to 45 MPH signs.

  1. Good stuff tommy and Project 151 supporters.

Glad to see some positive progress from the awareness you have brought to this issue.

No telling how many lives your efforts may have already saved now and in the future.

    Thank You!

  2. Another good idea I’ve seen in other states for tailgating is the use of “dots” spaced at intervals on the road to remind people of proper following distance.

    It certainly can’t hurt!
