Group Takes On Two-Lane Road Safety
On the Net: Project 151

Route 151 in Nelson County has seen more than its share of accidents in the past few months. That includes a serious one that happened just Tuesday, and it has people concerned about the safety of the two-lane road.

One of those people is Tommy Stafford, founder Project 151. The group’s mission is to make the road safer. A few weeks ago, Stafford and the group distributed surveys to Nelson County residents to see what they wanted to have done about the road. Now, the results are in.

“Overwhelmingly, three-fourths of the folks that responded said they opposed thru-trucks coming through here and wanted something done about it,” shared Stafford.

Also, 77 percent of respondents said they had a close call with another car on the road.
